$100 is a little low for the Mosin these days, but still under $150 for a solid shooter. A good list, still pricy if you bought 'em all.

Covered before, but may be of interest to your list.

I could sell my old Ivers-Johnson 9 shot .22 revolver with the loose barrel for $100US today.
Stuff has gotten stupid out there on prices.

I saw a Russkie 1950 SKS on consignment for at a local gun shop for $999. If it sells I may have to put mine up, but I like it too much!

AR’s, Glocks, etc are fine weapons and I own them, but I’ve also considered a 357 levergun and corresponding revolver for SHTF duty.

Good evening my FRiend.
Stuff has gotten stupid out there on prices.
Between no ammo on Walmart's shelves, to $2,200 for an AR platform, gold ain't got nothing on these.

I lean toward having a carbine in a pistol caliber and the matching caliber pistol. No fumbling around for ammo. On the other hand, I have about 7 different calibers running around the mansion.

Whoof! I bought mine for $89US. Russian. Machined reciever, not stamped. They still had wax paper and cosmoline (or whatever the soviet equivalent is) on them.
That kind of return on the dollar would tempt me. But I think I'll keep mine. They are good for feral hogs after I modifed the back sight to a peep sight instead of the notch sight.

Like I didn’t have enough toys I bought an Enfield #4 mk1 last weekend at a gunshow , having a hard time finding 303 ammo for it , only 80 rounds out of three shops I’ve been to and 40 of these I bought at the show.

Today’s price for a Ruger 22LR is $260-290. I have priced them from every gun company on the internet I could find, for the past several months.

Evening. Good to see you.
Stories like this make me glad that I bought a bunch of stuff back when I had folding cash to blow.

Pistol-caliber lever-guns are quite useful. Usually hold more than 10 rounds and, with practice, are quite fast.
Miroku/Winchester model 92 or Marlin “cowboy” can be had in common pistol calibers. May or may not adapt to .38/357 length differences, though.
Mine are .45LC to match my Ruger Vaquero revolvers.

I like my AK (Romanian WASR-10) that I got recently for $450, and have been fitting it out. I would gobble up an SKS in a minute if I find one at any kind of a reasonable price...I like the idea of being able to shoot w/o having to have mags handy.

I should have added one can't find a Ruger 22LR for sale, neither is there hollow point ammo for sale in any caliber.
Also, high count magazines can't be found. I got a 25 magazine for a Ruger 22LR before they were gone, and I'm thinking of putting it on the wall as an antique even though I just bought it about two months ago.

Marcella,, have you checked the pawn shops ,I bought one couple weeks ago after talking to you , the craving just came too much for me , the wife claimed it before I even got a chance to shoot it.
The price tax and all was $244 and they had 4 30-round mags.,,, just couldn't help myself had to have it all.

“...high count magazines can’t be found.”
You just have to keep looking. I got a package yesterday that had 5-30rd 7.62x39 in for my WASR-10. Needless to say, the price on mags has gone up 3 or 4 times in the past 2 months.
I laid in several BX-25’s for my 10/22 a year ago. Sweet mags.

Oh yeah... but your thumb would hate you in a NY minute.
I love the SKS for feral pigs. One shot every few hours, careful reloading. Push down a stripper clip? I've never done it without shedding a little bit of blood and bark off the knuckle.

I watched Piers Morgan last night since he had Newt Gingrich on. Morgan tells about the killing in New Mexico of a mom and two or three kids by the 15 yr. old son, using a 22 long rifle, who then waited for his dad to get home and killed him with an AR 15. Morgan skipped over the 22 and zeroed in on the dad getting shot with the AR 15. He never mentioned the 22 but once and he flubbed saying 22 so it wasn't evident he said 22, just that AR15.
Every gun out there will kill as that is why they were made.
