Well you get what you pay for. Except for the 10-22 and the Bersa count me out. Instead of a Mosin Nagant I’d rather have an American Ruger in .308 for about $350. It has a 4 round rotary mag and one in the tube. Its a very very good gun for the price. It will shoot a 2 inch MOE at 300 meters out of the box. If you start tweaking it it will get more accurate than that.

I went there and couldn’t believe the final price of those. I have a hot lips one and will wait until those prices come down for the Ruger one, if they ever do.

I did the same thing - bought ammo before it was scarce. Then, I bought the Ruger 22lr a few weeks ago, and found some ammo at the higher price for it and had to wait two weeks until it could be shipped. I hope it comes this week so I’ll have it. Searched and searched before I found the rifle actually in stock and should have it in a couple of weeks, I hope.

I looked at magazines today and the poor gun companies now are listing every state they can’t ship to since they have been outlawed in those states. As states keep making laws, the gun companies have to keep changing where they can and cannot mail those magazines. This is a nightmare for all people.

I think guns are safe right now in Texas, but I believe Hussein will use medical insurance to get people to turn in guns. Hussein’s Obamacare says if you smoke, a a medical insurance company can charge you double for insurance. I think he will do the same for guns, as in, guns are a health hazard and if you have a gun you have to pay double for medical insurance. This country is toast.

What gets me is that the states are ignoring the 2nd and 10th Amendments. It is the infringing gun “laws” that should be ignored by the states because they are illegal. The federal government has no right to amend the Constitution by fiat or executive order.

For a lot of rifle and ammunition at an affordable price consider the M1 Garand.

For those not familiar with the Garand, I can tell you this is all the rifle you could ever want when the zombies visit your neighborhood.
It is a semi-automatic, 30-06 caliber, holds an 8 round clip, reloads quickly and easily, has an effective range of over 1,000 yards.
If you can see it with the naked eye, you can hit it witrh an M1.

The Garand was THE US battle rifle that put the US on top in WWII. This is back when every infantry man was expected to be a marksman and make every shot count - before the "spray and pray" philosophy took hold.

I'm not talking about amending the constitution - he's going around the constitution to what he does control and that is healthcare. His department on health and human services writes the regs for him concerning healthcare. He has them write a reg that states owning a gun is a public health issue so if you own a gun, you have to pay double premium to keep it. That is not taking away your gun, it's writing an insurance reg and you either keep your gun and pay that huge amount, or if you don't have that amount, you give up your guns.

One thing for sure, never let your guns be registered. Gun owners in New York state must now register their guns and they have come together to say they are not going to do it. The governor has to decide what to do to these law breakers when they don't register the guns by a certain date and I forget when that date is - might have been March.

They don't register their guns and become criminals. The governor's problem is, he doesn't know who they are so what does he do? He hasn't decided what to do with these criminals when they don't register. As surely as they did register, that governor would write another law and take those guns.

I always figured if the SHTF that 22 ammo would be worth more that money and probably gold. So I have been buying 22 ammo for the last couple years. I have between 3 to 4,000 rounds stocked away.

I bought a pile of that same stuff, right after Clinton stopped the Chinese rifles and ammo from being imported. Of course, I still have a bit of the old Chinese steel-core stuff too.

I do like the ghost-ring rear sight on the SKS, especially with the Williams Firesight front blade.

I lean toward having a carbine in a pistol caliber and the matching caliber pistol.

I love my Ruger PC-9 9mm police carbine. Same mags as the Ruger P series pistols and the stock is heavy enough to be a weapon by itself. Too bad they went out of production a few years ago.

I’m not sure that’s true with regard to the big cities in Texas: take the DFW metroplex, San Antonio, Houston, and Austin.

Don’t know whether you are referring to the WASR-10 or the 10/22. Both are good at 100 yds. And I am old and my eysight is not as good as Moses’ was at 120.

It is not a right given to us by the Founding Fathers through the 2nd Amendment...It is a God given right. The Bill of Rights in the Constution is a reiteration of thos God Given Rights.

No, the big cities in TX are different. But many of the residents there are no different than I am.

They do not live in an isolated area like I do. My ancestors came to this county in 1889. I was the first in my family to leave, was away for 25 years. Have been back home since 1995.

One of my ancestors was born in TX during The Republic.

I saw a Russkie 1950 SKS on consignment for at a local gun shop for $999.

I remember when SKS's were selling for $65 apiece at Jim's Gun Shop outside of Ft Bragg in the 90's.

I’ve mentioned that rifle already - it’s PINK and was $260.

I had to get a pink camera - kept hubby and son from using it and changing the settings on me when I wasn't looking ;)

Just got a 3 pack of the Battledyne mags in. Took about 6 weeks to show up, but Cabelas keeps having to use out my BX-25x2. Should be able to try them out next week.
