Sarah Palin Won’t Run (she will stand...read whole piece...great article)

I’m accustomed to being the odd man out when it comes to political opinions, and I’ve become accustomed to taking some flak on that basis. I’ve read a number of very good articles offering the reasons why Sarah Palin should run for President, and given her departure from Fox News, there are many who are already speculating about a 2016 Palin run for high office. Various writers have mentioned her blue-collar appeal, her record of fighting corruption, and her ability to stand apart from her party when doing that which is right had demanded it. As a campaigner, she’s an undeniable phenomenon and her record of endorsements turns out to have been much better than those who claimed her endorsement wasn’t “worth snot”(as Steve Flesher reminds us,) but with all of that in mind, there’s something that has bothered me about the idea that she would run. You see, even as I watched her deliver a barn-burner of a speech in Indianola, Iowa in the September of 2011, and again as I watched CPAC 2012 via C-Span, while each crowd broke out into chants of “Run Sarah, Run,” I looked at the humble but forthright soul standing alone before the multitudes, thinking to myself that despite her fitness regimen, she isn’t really the running type. In my mind on both occasions, the words echoed: “She won’t run. When the time comes, she will do as she’s always done: Sarah Palin will stand.”

Reagan too took a stand but he decided to run as well. I wish Palin would run because that’s where it all counts. There comes a point in time when you have to fish or cut bait. We all had expected her to run in 2012 but it didn’t occur.

Why do people insist on putting words into her mouth, in which she has not spoken?

What does “stand” mean?

I don’t know. It’s an “opinion” piece.
I almost wrote that beneath her picture on the ping.
Wish I had.

Why do people change their last names to “Garland”, “Presley”, “Dotcom” or “America”?

I agree.

I caught some flack for this on another thread yesterday, but this idea that Sarah had as much impact on the political front being a commentator on Fox News, as she would've being a presidential contender (possible winner) is simply not grounded in reality. We need these good people holding political office where they can affect change.

Not saying her articles, tweets, and appearances on Fox were not helpful, they were. Sarah would've been more effective helping to set the Conservative agenda on the campaign trail. This is not a slam to Sarah, but simply the truth.

I really wish she would run for a House or Senate seat. The Leftists always tell us who they fear; they do not fear Palin as a commentator.

Or Mel Aiello?
(He loves it when people ask him his name: “They call me...”)

Or Pokey LaFarge, who won’t reveal his real name.

He’s right. Sarah stands for the values that are important to her. She does not run away from the tough issues of the day as most of the politicians do time and time again.

Alaska has a Senate seat election in 2014. Very logical choice to run against Mark Begich.

“Stand” as opposed to “run” or “stand” as opposed to “fight”. I’m sick of politicians as usual always “running”, always “fighting”; but standing for nothing. Early statesmen “stood up for what they believed, for the Constitution”; these days, it’s who delivers the most loot from the public coffers. We all need to be “Sarahs” in this time; the time that the nation is truly in peril.

Some people simply aren’t suited to the sort of running in which most politicians engage, and I’ve long held that Sarah Palin is one of those political rarities who breaks the mold of the ordinary. I hope you’ll forgive me if indulge my own hopes for a country reborn, as through the din between my ears, I hear instead the chant of “Stand Sarah, Stand,” knowing that if she is called to stand for our republic, I, along with millions more, will cheerfully take our places standing alongside her in the battle for our nation’s future, whatever form it may take.

I want Sarah to "run." I've always wanted her to "run." But this brings out something that strikes more to the heart of the matter. America doesn't need as much a political change as it does a heart change. America is and always has been a miracle and gift from God. The real issue is a spiritual issue. America needs a Third Great Awakening. To the degree Sarah's "stand" can help with that, God bless her.

Palin isn’t stupid, she knows that there isn’t a chance in hell that the GOP-e would ever allow her to win the republican nomination. Karl Rove and the other sorry-asses who run the GOP-e would rather lose with a zero like Mitt Flopney than win with someone like Palin.
