Representatives of both parties are doing their couthie duty in trying to out-pander each other in the quest for Hispanic votes. Let’s be honest, folks—if there were an old law on the books that said that Hispanics would never be allowed to vote, there would be no pandering. In fact, the borders would have been sealed long ago and strict laws would have been passed (and enforced) to prevent employers from hiring illegals, and the latter would have been rounded up and/or harangued to such an extent that they would have gone home willingly. This whole brouhaha has nothing to do with compassion, and everything to do with votes.
I must have been in a coma in the early 80’s....I don’t remember that band or the song, and now wish I could forget looking at them.
Exactly truthie - as I’ve said many times before, even in my State, which claims to be doing all it can to prevent illegals from being here/staying here - even a government contract does not keep a contractor from having all illegal workforce. We have a major project going on nearby and all I see are small dark men working. Illegals are darker than American hispanics and much smaller - it is easy to spot them.
It did hit #39 on the Billboard charts. I heard it on the radio while I was out Saturday. Awful scrawny looking singer. The guitarist ended up in Whitesnake.
My son would probably know that - and I do know of Whitesnake....Well I was working a lot back then and since I didn’t meet my husband until the end of 83, I guess if I ever did go to a club it was country.
I can’t imagine a “club” playing that type of music.

my coworker from Pgh says he may have to root for the Ravens just bc if SanFran wins, the Steelers will not be the only team with 6 superbowl wins. i am sure Soother must’ve figured that angle out too.

Yes, of course. I tweeted that night that the choice in this Super Bowl is like being asked to choose between a sharp stick in the eye or a badger attacking your nether regions.
There really should be no option here. SF can win a 6th, but we were still first. On the other hand, the Ravens winning anything is a travesty. It’s a smear on our record that they were allowed to win one at all.
he’s long had a hate on for Ray Lewis, never could figure out why he’s so popular, thinks he’s over-rated and would always just pile on after a hit and come up mugging like he was crucial.

68 here! People were running in shorts/tshirts at lunch. We had delayed arrival for ICE yesterday. So dang weird
Pretty much so-but I did hear it on the classic rock station I like a few days ago-there is a DJ on in the early afternoon who is all 80’s, all the time...
It got up to 74 here today, but it is cooling off fast now, and the wind is blowing a bit-supposed to get down to 43 tonight...
I was running around with no jacket this evening.
61 this AM, going up to 68, high of 44 tomorrow!
