Groupon Support

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us.

We understand that this is a sensitive topic, and that some of our customers may not agree with our choice to pause the promotion of firearm-related deals. Groupon has always aimed to offer a diverse range of products and services to meet the various tastes and interests of our subscribers. However, at this time, enough customers and merchants have voiced their opinions that we believe a hiatus is warranted.

Please note that we have never sold guns, and this hiatus only applies to firearm-related deals including shooting ranges, clay pigeon shooting, and concealed weapons training classes. We have not made a final determination regarding this category -- we are simply taking a break and may reevaluate in the future.

We genuinely appreciate your opinion and the feedback you've given us. I'll be sure to share your comments with the appropriate people.

Regards,

Aliza S Groupon Customer Support

IMHO Groupon and Sweetjack are all BS anyway. At least Sweetjack, has a catchy jingle. ♪Woof ♪Woof!

Dear Groupon, Thank you for the reply. I likewise feel the need for a hiatus. We all do from time to time. So, for the rest of my life I will refrain from doing any business with you no matter what you do going forward. Sincerely, TigersEye

I've used Groupon a number of times, it's allowed me to try restautants, or types of food, that I had never heard of, or simply couldn't afford.

However, I noticed that one of the sorts of items listed in the letter as currently banned was for CCW SAFETY classes. Think about that for a moment, because it pretty much sums up the entire "liberal" mindset. Criminal use of guns causes suspension of teaching gun safety. If Groupon were really being responsible, they would stop offering Groupons to any restaurant that serves alcohol. How many people are killed every year due to driving while drunk?

Simply stupid, again, which sums up the liberal mindset.

I've used groupon a few times to get a good deal on sushi.
The problem was that when using groupon the sushi was tiny, and I mean tiny.
So I figured that it was just that restaurant, nope, they all did it. And for trying
to bring in new business they failed miserably. I never looked back.

Groupon to us, was just an added bloated app that attaches to your toolbar, meaning it was useless. As far as I know, even my tech-savvy friends hated it.

I use LivingSocial.com. They have a lot of great deals. I don't know of any political agenda with them and I have seen shooting related deals in the past. In fact, I just got 2000sf of carpet cleaned for $99.00. The company did a great job of it too.

The irony of this is that my wife and I first used Groupon to attend CCW class. Since their ill formed decision, we have passed on offers we normally would have accepted and do not intend to use their service until they reverse their decision. Good news is that two similar services are already in place and will easily fill whatever vacuum exists, thus Groupon, not us, will be deprived by their decision.

The key to disarming, pardon the pun, this Groupon advertising firm, is to let their clients know that you will be boycotting THEM for using Groupon while a leftist political agenda steers the company’s policy making.

Groupon fails as a business model because it is based on a false assumption. That assumption is that people don’t use a particular restaurant or service because they afraid to spend so much, but once they do, they will see the value in it and return at full price.

This is obviously false. You can ask any bar owner what happens when they have $1 beers on Tuesday...they fill the place with lowlifes that don’t come any other time.

The same is true for Groupon...they fill the place with deal seekers that will eat at the next groupon restaurant the next week and the next one the week after that.

Restaurants compensate by creating tiny portions that end up defeating the purpose of the promotion to begin with.

The fact that Groupon was offered a Billion dollars is mind boggling because it seems to me that they must rely on an ever increasing source of new businesses (suckers) to sustain their model.

Basically told them if they can’t support my 2A rights then I can’t support their business.

I told them the same thing. I’ve gotten some great deals through Living Social and Groupon. My daughter had several archery lessons I wouldn’t have known were available so close. She enjoyed it and when scheduling more were encouraged by the company to get a few more Groupons and take advantage of the discount. She is scheduled for horseback riding lessons next week. My windows are being cleaned tomorrow, which is something I wouldn’t have paid for except for the great discount. My ducts were cleaned in December, something I’d wanted done a long time and finally did because of the good deal. I’ve also eaten at a local sushi restaurant I’d wanted to try. There was no difference in what I was served the 3-4 more times I went back because I liked the restaurant. I’ve been to a museum I wanted to see because Living Social offered a half off coupon. I hope Living Social doesn’t do something as stupid becuase I’ll stop using them, too. We have a local “machine gun experience” they had a deal for so I’m hopeful I’ll keep getting great deals.
