A lot of the comments at the site indicate that most people don’t realize this is a gimmick.
I’ve seen shelters use this ploy on craigslist as they try and place dogs out for adoption.
“Adopt this dog before 10:00 am tomorrow or he will be euthanized!”
Pretty sleazy tactic, if ya wanna know.
Doggie style?
Adopt this dog before 10:00 am tomorrow or he will be euthanized!
If you don't buy this magazine, we'll kill this dog

Same ‘topic’ - misleading ads -
Other day I saw a PSA presented with AT&T getting a ‘credit’, with a picture of a coffin, child, Father(?), Mother(?) and a picture of a smiling Marine.
The Mother(?) makes a statement to the effect ‘the last text of ?? was this’ and holding a paper with a short message, cut off in mid stroke, and then pointing out the dangers of texting and driving.
In my mind the use of the picture of the Marine in this ‘ad’ is tantamount to Gabby in the well pleading ‘for the children’. I would be disgusted enough if she had just been using HER OWN situation BUT to cite ‘do it for the children’ is disgusting.
