"Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" is widely considered one of the first songs in the style that after World War II would be known as rhythm and blues. Huh? BWBB could be called a lot of things, but R&B is not one of them.

I would disagree. Just because the players weren’t black doesn’t make it untrue. I hate how “R&B” is really code for “black”.
