Valentine's Day is coming up and I'd love to get Freepers' opinions of the best gift idea they've ever heard of for a man .... something that will completely melt him like butter and make him feel like a million bucks.

I know there are plenty of creative and imaginative people on this forum so please help me here .....

My wife bought me a crossbow for our 10th wedding anniversary.

I melted. Heh.

$100 or so. We’ve both had some tough years financially.

Almost anything that starts with 5.56/.223, .40 or 9 mm. Just the thought of that makes my little heart go pitter patter.

You phrased that so delicately. You are, of course, correct.

There’s always that. Doesn’t cost nothin’ ... goes well with everything.

There’s one answer that is a no-brainer, and doesn’t cost a thing.

I am a woman, so I may not really know for sure....

But, IMO, the best gift would not cost a cent. A note that tells him in heartfelt terms how much you appreciate all the things — big and small — that he has done for you and the kids could go a long way toward making him feel great.

Today’s husbands (and men, in general) are so often not given credit for all that they do for us women and far too often just hear criticism and ingratitude.

I am speaking in general terms, so please don’t think that I am assuming you are one of the whiny ingrates. :)

I missed 4 & 5 also, but common sense tells me it was, as somone else said, FREE and plentyful and (usually) FUN for both.

Send the kids away for the evening, have an indoor candlelight picnic with chocolate covered strawberries, cheeses, various finger foods that are ready to eat, champagne, etc. (in front of the fireplace if you have one.)

I heard a guy (not my husband. lol) say that if a guy’s not horny he’s hungry. So if he’s not horny make him a sandwich. My husband laughed when I told him that.

I always kinda figured if you took care of both he’d probably be pretty happy. Am I wrong in that assumption? (Guys, help me out here. lol)
