They won’t likely have any personal info on them other than possibly some programming data, but I doubt that most users would be able to access anything, especially since they need to be rebooted to acquire a signal once they have updated cards. It’s the cards that are allowed to decode specific programming and they don’t really control anything - the other way around. The programming is allotted to the various cards. Might be of nominal value to someone, but might be better off just trashing them. Some of the older boxes had serious heat problems.
