With Google Maps and Google Earth we can now find a lot of neat stuff never before seen. And Bing Maps are pretty cool too, I like their Birds Eye & Aerial View. Then again I've always liked looking at Maps, and that sure helped me in Elementary School Geography class, and NOT ever getting lost :-)
[give me a Map and a Compass any day over a GPS gizmo]
Another great Map resource for 'finding stuff' is WikiMaps, 'GeoHack'. You can get every type of Map you want from a standard Road Map, to Topo, and Infrared. Search by address, city, or my fave Lat/Long Coordinates. Like these: -66.553217, 99.838294
(there's some controversy over what's at that location, like 'it' ain't supposed to be there. Conspiracy theories abound)
But alas, poor Map Quest. They basically started it all and now they're like the red-headed stepchild and never mentioned.
Thanks for the ping!
