Scratched my itch at Cabelas World: The Rossi Matched Pair Pistol
Posted on 02/07/2013 3:05:02 PM PST by JoeProBono
Cabelas in Hamburg PA was bustling but not overly crowded.
Picked up a rather unique handgun and a few boxes of .45 Colt & .410 ammo (.22 Long Rifle not available but I have plenty in stock). Process took two hours but there's no boring waiting time at Cabelas with gear as far as the eyes can see.
I'm getting into multi-function firearms for whatever ammo.

Oh, yeah, waiting in Cabela's. All that stuff just right there, right in front of you...almost like they did it deliberately...
Congrats on the new club. Looks like a keeper.

I was in a Cabelas in Phoenix. Seemed about ready to capsize, with noone on the fishing side of the shop and everyone on the gun side.

Was there myself a couple of weekends ago (the rainy one) and saw the same thing. What’s up with that? ;^)

Usually not a huge fan of such things, but that looks to be a great wood’s bumming gun to have in your pack.
To: JoeProBono
Nice. Mine doesn't shoot the .22's but does fire the .410 and .45LC...and hides more easily.

Actually, you’re not too far from wrong. It’s a solid handgun. I have a tripod but my old wrist still suffices ;-{)

Rossi? Are they making them any better? Last time I looked at one, you could see machine marks all over the barrel. (.357)

I have always liked single shot guns, tho not for protection etc.
It was always enjoyable to just walk around and plink with a simple, easy to load rifle or pistol.
When I was a teenager around 1961 I bought a really cheap Mendoza single shot pistol. It had a simple plastic frame with a rolling block action made of stamped sheet metal. It had about a six inch barrel with an adjustable rear sight. There were two sheet metal clips on each side of the frame which gave it the appearance of a six shooter but in fact just held spare ammo.
It was probably about as simple and cheap as it was possible to make a perfectly good working pistol. It was about as accurate as any .22 pistol and more accurate than a lot. I think it sold for $12 new in the box.
