I do stand by my point of view, and I think you are reading more into it than is there. If you look at the text of my post:
"...Trust. Confidence. Fairness. Respect of Law. Integrity. Those had been all perceived bricks in that wall called Police..." you should see that I was not only speaking metaphorically, but speaking to the perception of police in general by the American public in a time gone by. I wasn't speaking about the LAPD in particular, but referring to police in general.
I don't think there was anything particularly shocking or untrue about that.
