FULL TITLE: Company president, 60, 'slaps 19-month-old toddler in the face on a plane and tells his mother to ''shut that n****r baby up'''
A man has been accused of racially abusing then physically assaulting a 19-month-old child on a flight to Atlanta last Friday.
Joe Rickey Hundley, 60, allegedly demanded that the mother of the crying toddler 'shut that n****r baby up' before slapping the infant in the face on the Delta flight on February 8.
According to The Smoking Gun, Hundley has been charged with simple assault after the incident with Jessica Bennett, 33, and her son Jonah.
Bennett told authorities that her son 'started to cry due to the altitude change' as the service from Minneapolis to Atlanta prepared for landing.
Ms Bennett and her adopted child shared a seat on their way to a family funeral while Mr Hundley was in the neighboring seat.
Bennett said she was unable to stop the infant crying. A report compiled by FBI Agent Daron Cheney alleges that Hundley turned to the mother and used the racial slur in telling her to shut up the child.

That man deserves to lose everything. You don’t sock 19 month old kids.
Get some friggin earphones and turn up some tunes and tune the kid out, but don’t hit him.
What is pushing people over the limit is their self-absorbtion. Some people, especially if they are used to getting their own way all the time, don’t learn to be tolerant during the times when they cannot get their way and they react, like this guy reacted.
If I had witnessed some guy slapping a 19 month old toddler and using a racial slur, I'm pretty sure I would've been charged with very aggravated assault in response...
Maybe she had no one to stay with him. He’s her son. She doesn’t need a reason. There’s no excuse for his being assaulted.

Guy slapped a baby that is only now learning the first two words they always learn “no and mamma”.

Ther’ye babies, not brats and the pressure in their ears, created by the pressurizaion of the cabin, is very painful, as they have not learned how to equalize their inner ear.
I can’t stand being around high pitched kids at dinner and expect their parents to exert discipline instead of making the rest of uncomfortable.
My Dad only gave us two shots before we’d all leave the restaurant....hungry. Didn’t last long. My Dad was a sucker for his kids and would always ensure we had something to eat before bed and he’d tell us one his scary stories or the ones that always made us laugh.
Never once got spanked by him(that is a longer story).
But, hell this a baby and 60 year old man ought to be able to recognize babies will be babies and there ain’t much you can do about them.
They cry, they shriek, make funny noises and laugh. Love their laugh.
You don’t call anyone a N***ger, much less a baby child.

Lucky I wasn’t there to witness it. He’d have gone down hard, with prejudice. Terrorist style.
Good grief! What a silly question. Most funerals are also family reunions. I’m sure the family members wanted to see the baby and his mom, too.

Agreed. There’s nothing more comforting at a funeral than a baby. Seeing new life is the best remedy for the heartbreak of losing a loved one, in my experience.

Still, absolutely no excuse for WHAT he did, but maybe the reason for WHY he did it.
The cause being that the old society and its rules have collapsed leaving people at sea. The early anthropologist Pitt Rivers described a little culture that died out when its cultural rules were forcibly changed. The people of that culture simply died.

Honestly, considering how regulated our lives have become, I'm surprised in this day and age they still serve booze on planes. I imagine it won't be long before alcohol goes the way of smoking --much to the opposition of airlines who make big bucks selling $6 cans of beer.
