He was surrounded for six days?

I didn't state that, did I? Why do criminal apologists have so much comprehension difficulty?

He killed cops and their families

The young woman and her fiance were civilians, weren't they?

I am saying that there is a double standard that is very clear here.

Why not test your contention? Kill 4 innocent people, write a manifesto threatening others, take hostages, hole up in a cabin shooting at police and see if they lob teargas canisters into the building, okay? Be sure to let us know the time and location so we can follow the progress.

The hostage taking, and killings, happened 40 miles north of me. They waited for the guy to come out after he got hungry, and he is now sitting in prison. They didn’t lob tear gas.

So you are fine with police being judge, jury, and executioners if they feel the need? This isn’t about killing a suspect to stop them from harming others. They had the guy holed up in a house isolated on a mountain. He wasn’t going anywhere.

Again, I don’t care that he died. I do care about the two standards of justice in play. In short, hurt a cop or their immediate family, and you die. Hurt a non cop, and they might go after you, if they feel like it.
