We just had an America-hating, Marxist-loving radical reelected to the highest office in the land. Is there any question that the left is in the catbird seat?

We are certainly cursed for that and other sins, but not doomed (facing permanent punishment for all time that we will never recover from).

There are still some on here who have (unwise and ill-advised IMO) antipathy towards Lincoln, but it was his repentance (and the repentance, meaning praying and fasting, of those who heeded his call to repent) that saved the country from the Civil War, which almost destroyed the USA. There is one paragraph from the National Fast Day speech that would most certainly apply to us today, and I suggest we all heed it:

We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious Hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us! It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.

My (public schooled) 8th grade daughter is entering the National History Day competition. This year’s theme is ‘Turning Points in History.’

Her entry?

‘Roe v. Wade’

Her dad and I are so proud ;) Even if she doesn’t win a thing, I give her the kudos for standing up and doing such a topic.

good for you! you have every right to be proud of that! my daughter's senior thesis in her private HS is on the fallacies of gun control. my son walks around SU, not only with the NRA tshirt, but also wears this there

he's on the hockey team. i asked if anyone ever gave him grief for it, he said not at all. and SU is one of the most lib campuses you can imagine.

She got the inspiration for her topic on the trip we took to D.C. for the March for Life. I think that of all the people who went with us (it was our Catholic parish, but we had several non-Catholics with us), about half of them were under 25. At the March itself, I was blown away by the youth of the crowd. They realize the effects that abortion has had on the world they were born into. As one college-age speaker at the rally said ‘We are not the future of the pro-life movement—we ARE the pro-life movement.’

we live in NoVA suburbs of DC and have gone to the March often. it is truly an inspirational event and extremely youthful. I hope your daughter’s efforts are rewarded with some sort of prize!

No Sarah, no peace. I like Rand Paul. I like Ted Cruz. I LOVE Sarah. And yeah, I am one of those crazy people that still prays she runs.

If she runs, the PDSers will once again join their friends at HufPo and MSNBC in derailing her because she is Palin and anyone like her will get the same.

The fact is that the Republicans are no longer our Allies, they are just as much the problem as the Democrats.

I am hearing talk of going soft(er) on Homosexual Marriage and Abortion of all things.

The fact of the matter is that they simply want to be Democrat Lite, something that Sarah is 236% opposed to.

That is why they hate her, that is why the PDSer's and Republicans here on F.R. have spewed such vitrol against her.

G-d is not yet done with Sarah, anytime she posts even the slights comment on Facebook it shoots across the Internet like a Meteor.

All I can say is: GO SARAH!

Sarah said it best on Presidents day: Presidents’ Day reminds us that we have been uniquely blessed by God. Be grateful for the rights He has given us, and please honor those who have given themselves for the preservation of those rights. Let us reject any attempt to fundamentally transform our nation because we want our children and their children to know the American exceptionalism we have enjoyed and to deem it worthy of protecting. Freedom isn’t free, be willing to fight for it.
