Echoing the frustration of lawmakers throughout Washington hoping for a last-minute swerve to avoid impending budget cuts, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, used some PG-13 phraseology Tuesday to urge the Senate to action.
"We have moved a bill in the House twice," Boehner said at a press conference Tuesday. "We should not have to move a third bill before the Senate gets off their ass and begins to do something."
The refrain of urging Senate action comes from Boehner just four days before the sequestration cuts are slated to kick in.
President Barack Obama will travel to Newport News, Va. this afternoon to highlight the cuts' effect on the region's shipbuilding community. He will be joined by the area's Rep. Scott Rigell, a Republican.
The White House's road trips to warn of the sequester's impact have drawn criticism from foes.
"He has traveled over 5000 miles the last two weeks, and we challenge him travel a mile and half and come to Capitol Hill," said Rep. Cathy McMorris Rogers of Washington on Tuesday. "Sit down with Harry Reid and urge the Senate Democrats to take action."

Certainly. Nothing Boehner can do about that. But, he is playing this one right. House passed a bill. He's not negotiating with the Obama. His job is to make sure people know where the legislative process is stuck.
It's McConnell we have to worry about (for the time being.)
Doing nothing and letting the press tell people you are stupid is different than taking action and removing any doubt.

Boehner is all bark and no bite; the GOP will cave again, it always does. The sad truth is that there is little substantive difference between the GOP and the Democrats, and they both believe in big government and massive spending. There really is only one party — the establishment party — which every election splits into two with a phony debate about their supposed differences which makes good theater but lousy democracy.
Boehner: “Senate get off your ass”
Reid: “Go to your room”
Boehner: “You’re not the boss of me...ok...ok...I’m going”
Nothing like trying to chance the narrative before the ink is dry; instead of pounding away on the airwaves.

Yep. And I think he and the Republicans know that. At this point, it's all a matter of positioning for the blame game. Maybe that's why this GOP Rep. Scott Rigell will be doing his Pork Porkie imitation with Ubama in Newport News?
