I got a troll zotted yesterday, then all of a sudden this morning I get the following email (to the email address attached to my FR profile) from "Organizing for Action" (rapid pro-Obama group):
Hi --
Thanks for saying youre in for the next phase of our grassroots movement.
Im excited to get the chance to work with you as we set out to finish what we started.
Over the next four years, weve got an incredible opportunity to keep moving this country forward. This grassroots movement has shown time and again that ordinary people have the power to change our country if we work together to do it.
So locally and nationally, OFA will fight for our shared values on issues like immigration reform, climate change, gun violence, balanced deficit reduction, and more.
Well be working with you and other supporters to write a plan for 2013. This organization will be volunteer-led, always guided by the core principles of "respect, empower, include."
That starts now. Make sure your friends and family know about Organizing for Action, and ask them to add their names now to get involved:
Thanks so much for being a part of this. See you in the field.
Jon

Needless to say, I never requested to become a part of this group. Seems a bit suspicious....
I've email and called the group to have them remove me from their list of members, but haven't heard back yet. Be careful out there.
Stay on their list. It might be useful to see what the cretins are up to. Maybe you can forward some of them to the GOP...they need all the help they can get these days. Those clowns are getting gobsmacked by the lefties every time they turn around...maybe they can glean some tactics that the left are successfully using. God knows they haven’t been able to come up with any on their own.
I might be able to answer your question is I knew what you were talking about. Your post is limited information.
Usually, these lists send you an email asking you to click on a link to confirm that you really wish to subscribe. They don’t like this malicious subscription stuff either.
I know what you mean, but this one didn’t do that, unfortunately.
I guess you are just an honorary Party Member.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
Or something like that.
What does “Troll Zotted” mean ?
It's kinda like a bobblehead, only the butt moves instead of the head.
In Internet slang, a troll is a troublemaker, prankster or insincere poster on a message board--sort of like a "seminar caller" on talk radio stations. "Zot," which is the acronnym for "zoned-out troll," is a term that is probably unique to Free Republic.
Some Trolls have to be gutted rather than zotted
FreeRepublic.com uses google-analytics and Facebook; and both of those organizations’ politics beg the question of how they pass along your information.
FreeRepublic.com - “mail” - is NOT secure, nor are the FreeRepublic.com webpages; they are ALL “clear text” across the Internet.
The owners and managers of FreeRepublic.com are nearly sphynx-like, in their reporting of the FreeRepublic.com servers’ status in regard to when, if ever, penetration testing occurs. Which testing, should be run weekly in the case of FreeRepublic.com.
Please re-read my message, you’re really missing what happened (hint - I didn’t “infiltrate” anywhere,I got a troll zotted from FR).
I hasten to add, that John Robinson probably has various penetration testing routines running around the clock; but it might help to have somebody else regularly take a whack at the place.
The brass may already be doing that; my reply 15 above, wonders, because we don’t hear about it.
It’s a method of cooking troll. Heard of flash frozen? Picture flash cooked.
Just delete your “Contact” email and get a junk email addy. I deleted mine a long time ago. I’d like to put it back now since I retired and they would get back a message that the email address no longer exists.
He chose to post his email on his profile page. It has nothing to do with FR getting hacked.
