Rush must be reading “Murder’s Row”. He talked about the first chapter yesterday. Fleming’s influences are all over the Matt Helm books, but so are Raymond Chandler’s. I think when it comes to Matt Helm himself, he’s more like Sam Spade than James Bond. Not just MH is American, but he lacks a refinement that is closer to Sam Spade.
In the movies (or at least The Ambushers) he used a Pentax camera. What about in the books?
