Unfortunately, I know of a few VERY WEALTHY AMERICANS who have given up ( yes, I said given up ) citizenship to reside in Singapore ( which welcomes them ).
The most prominent one being Eduardo Saverin ( co-founder of Facebook ).
Jim Rogers, co-founder of the Quantum Fund with George Soros and creator of the Rogers International Commodities Index (RICI) also resides in Singapore. His daughters grow up there and are learning Mandarin.
It’s a very safe and very comfortable place to live if you have money.
