I put CSPAN2 on last night and told my daughter that an old-fashioned filibuster was going on.
She was like “what was that word you just used?”
is that like Dave N Busters? ; ) xsbaby knows what it is, they had apparently discussed it in government bc she was familiar with the term. bc her dad used to work there, she also knows that there is a candy drawer in one of the desks on the floor, which different members take turns keeping stocked with candy. don’t know if it is precisely for such a purpose, but it’s a longstanding tradition to maintain such a stockpile.
We’re doing a mystery shop at 5 Guys tonight. We’ve been doing the 2 local ones for the last few months.
yum!
A+ for you!
Pardon my ignorance, but what is a “mystery shop?” Is it like going incognito to a restaurant to evaluate the food, service, etc?
Talk about an economic stimulus! A+ for you!
I thought Santorum was the one with the desk full of candy, back when he was there, courtesy of Hershey.
he may have candy in his desk, but there is a particular desk that is the candy desk and the members take turns filling it.
thanks! gearing up for round two after the procedure tomorrow!
Did Grassley’s guy keep it full of Swedish fish back in the day? ;)
xshub’s fave seafood. in fact the only seafood he will eat!
Yes, exactly. My wife has been doing it for a good number of years, with various companies evaluating various things over the years.
You usually get at least reimbursement up to a certain value, and sometimes a “shop fee” on top of that.
I’m not sure on the exact details for tonight, but it’s probably something like a $20 reimbursement. So the three of us will eat out for around $5.
She’s even managed to line up shops to do when we are on vacation.
Have you ever been to one? I really like their food. And their minimalist attitude. They’re not a sports bar and they don’t serve wings and salads. You go there for burgers and fries.
I hope all will be much better and back to normal for you after that.
Oh, okay-I tried to talk MrT5 into us doing that when we lived in the city, but he wouldn’t go there...
Okay-what is “Swedish fish?” Is it actual fish from Sweden, or is it some other kind of delicacy? Today, my lack of knowledge about anything other than plain fresh food or stuff not available here is showing...
Oh my, you have lived a sheltered life. How can you not know about Swedish fish?

Never had them, but I don’t much like sweets, and I never buy them-I like to eat fruit instead. They look like another incarnation of gummie bears-my daughter (and her dad) was very fond of those when she was little.
