Honestly, any half-way intelligent person would have no real difficulty surviving to old age in that environment. There would be plenty of food, ammo, water, and medicine left. Building defensible structures (against zombies) would be trivial — even if you don’t have the knowledge yourself, a few days in a public library would tell you all you need to know. Add to that simple tools of deception (remote controlled cars, radios positioned to attract herds, etc.), and the only thing you would have to really worry about is other living people. But, once again, a relatively secluded spot would do the trick.
I think the odds of survival would be much greater there, than it would be in the wrong area of most US cities.
Agreed. There is no reason they cant clear out the prison yard. And whoever is on duty can easily walk the fence poking zombies with ease. Now, on other zombies show, them bitches ran at high speed. THAT, was a whole different matter. See the movie 28 Days Later starring Robert Carlisle.
Humans would figure how to lure and kill off the bumbling biters but fast
Advanced peoples have usually made quick work of the less capable
Biters aint exactly Blackfeet or Commanche or Zulu or Picts
Now that took work
Zombies would be controlled in months...
You would think they would use technology, which hasn’t gone away despite the ‘new conditions’, to lure the zombies away from where the survivors want to live (like back at the farm). A loud speaker or any audio device blasting music or sound should draw them all to one area and away from where the survivors choose to hang out. But nooooo. Too logical.
When the zombies were migrating, I thought it would come out eventually that the government, via helicopters, was drawing or herding them with sound waves or something. Guess not.
Oh well.....the show is well written and well performed....and if you can get past the “zombie” aspect and the blood and gore part...it is probably one of the best shows on tv at this time (not saying much).
Substitute the zombie bs with a more-likely plague or post-apocalypse scenario, and you have a real-life survival drama. Something that everyone in America can relate to re: our worst fears coming true.
The Walking Dead proves that the entertainment industry CAN produce a product that is good, gripping and worth watching....if and when they want to. Too bad that most of the time they apparently don’t want to.
