This could slow down the Big10’s effort to poach more ACC schools, building on the defection of Maryland. Hoops wise it’s a much better league top to bottom than the Big 10. On FB Syracuse is improving andPitt has history. Bring in NDU for five games a year and the chances of Carolina bolting is lessened.

Right now the Big Ten has five teams in the top 25. ACC has two. All this rearranging is driven by money not talent or competitiveness.

Money talks no matter what any college president says. Maryland’s athletic department had massive debts so the B10 offers to help, the B10 network doles out uber-millions to each school each year. And for paying off their debt the B10 gets its foot in the DC basketball backyard. Rutgers gets New York basketball talent flowing into IU.

Now if we could get a new President, Board of Trustees and Theology Department.

GO IRISH!!!!!

P.S. Congratulations to Muffet McGraw and the girls, Big East regular season and tournament champions, 61-59 winners over the girly man Geno Auriemma and UCONN.
