The domain name popefrancis.com is owned by a Chicago lawyer who registered the address nearly three years ago, but who today declined to answer questions about his apparent prescience (or luck).
Christopher Connors, 39, appeared taken aback when contacted at his office by a TSG reporter. He declined to say what led him to register popefrancis.com in April 2010, or what he had planned for the site (which is parked on a Go Daddy server).
Pictured at right, Connors is a solo practitioner who specializes in representing whistleblowers who seek to report anonymously information about corporate bribery, fraud, or corruption to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In return, these whistleblowers can sometimes receive substantial rewards from the SEC, according to the web site for Connorss law firm.

Chicago, Obama, illuminatti, tbtb...obvious the pope’s selection was preordained by the world government.
Yea David Icke, and the Queen is really a reptile.
Did they look to see if he owns any similar domains ?? He could have simply taken a list of all male Catholic Saints (commonly available on the Web), appended the word “Pope” to the beginning of each name, and then purchased a domain for each of them.
I doubt if he planned to do anything with it, except maybe sell it, if someone became Pope Francis. Not necessarily to the Vatican, but to some Catholic who wants to start a website about this new pope, maybe.
I have an inlaw, Steve Gallagher, who managed to scarf up several potentially valuable website names. I just ran across this one, for instance, which I didn’t previously realize he owned:
Pretty cool. He must have nobbled that one pretty early in the game, I imagine, and I would guess that he is holding on to it until someone comes up with a good price for it.
He’s a sharp guy.
Whoa, got an eery feeling on this.....stay tuned...
Pure luck.
There has never been a Pope Francis before. What are the odds of his guessing correctly?
Here’s the list of the popes.

The closest is Pope Fabian.
True. But I still kind of doubt that he had inside knowledge. Maybe it was a guess.
Out of curiosity, I looked up this website:
I don’t know if the owner’s name is Pope, or whether he reserved it to sell, or what. But there are a LOT of guys with speculative websites, hoping to sell them and in the meantime maybe playing around with them, just so they can say they are active.
