A pair of Italian developers have created an alarm clock smartphone app designed to help users wake up with math games and other tasks.
The FreakyAlarm app, created by Enrico Angelini and Gabriele Di Lorenzo, has a basic mode where users must take pictures of objects or barcodes before bed then photograph the same objects or barcodes to shut the alarm off in the morning, the New York Daily News reported Thursday.
The app also has an "evil" setting, which requires users to solve difficult math equations to shut off the alarm.
Other settings include a game requiring users to pop the "alarm bubbles" in a precise order, a "Memory" type game and a game requiring users to tap certain shapes a specific number of times.
The app can be purchased for $1.99 in the iTunes store.
That wouldn’t work for me. I use my phone as my alarm. Sometimes I grab my imaginary phone, open it up, and shut off the alarm. In fact, I did that twice just yesterday.
Does it prevent the phone from smashing when it is hurled against the wall?
Or you can just go to bed early, and be healthier and better off without another piece of technology complicating your life.
Yeah and it also has a ‘demolish’ mode, which drives users to smash their cell phone into tiny bits of unrecognizable plastic.

Domino's Pizza developed a concept called 'Heightened Time Awareness' in the late '80s, and maybe during my 12 or so years with them I took it to the extreme, but no need for alarm clocks.
It's weird, even now when I wake up, I'll guess what time it is, and look at the clock (actually a Samsung tablet, not a clock), it's within an hour.
My Android phone came with an alarm clock feature built in.
There was a faint glimmer of hope that lasted just long enough before I opened the thread that I might be the first person to post an image of a hammer.
Your experience mirrors mine. I used to set alarms but noticed that I’d awaken and look at the clock and it was just before the alarm was set to go off. I stopped setting it years ago and haven’t “overslept” since.

Other than the bed you are sleeping in, the only other item in the room is a Rubik's cube.
At 5AM, a shrill alarm will go off and the ceiling will begin to drop at the rate of a foot a minute. The ceiling is only eight feet high so you will have exactly 8 minutes for the trapdoor to open or you will be crushed to death.
P.S. There is no "snooze" button on this particular alarm clock.
In order to open the trapdoor, in which you can escape to safety, you must solve the Rubik's cube puzzle. Otherwise, you will die a horrible death with crushed bones and agonizing pain.
The pressure to solve the Rubik's cube in the space of 8 minutes will be intense - but it's truly a life or death situation. If you want to live, you will find a way to solve that Rubik's cube within the alloted 8 minutes.
Exactly, one of my kids learned that lesson the hard way when his phone started affecting his behavior. Trashed it and bought him a Jihad Phone, with very few minutes.
