An Australian casino was bilked of $33.3 million in a gambling scam that used the facility's security cameras against itself.
Sky News reported the foreigner, whose name was not released, apparently struck a deal with a staff member in the VIP gambling area at the Crown Casino in Melbourne and the worker used the casino's security cameras to tip the man off as he played cards.
The Melbourne Herald Sun said Victoria police are investigating the incident.
The employee has been fired and the player has been banned for life, the casino said.
Barron Stringfellow, an renowned gambling security consultant, told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. such incidents are preventable.
"The problem with casinos is that they believe they are unbeatable," he said. "And we see over and over again that they're not unbeatable. If casinos would monitor for wireless transmissions, they would be able to thwart these plans at the onset."
Crown officials said they are confident they will be able to recover the money.
Now that really says a lot. Not an informative article at all, not at all.
How is a man to learn a trade if no one is willing to share the details..............
Some folks just don’t know when to quit.
“The employee has been fired and the player has been banned for life, the casino said.”
You can bet it’s not over.
They still do. What do you think happens when they bring cheats to the back room?
Now that’s what I call a bad hand.

If there weren’t a ‘Rest of the Story’ involving guys in slouch hats specializing in broken knee caps and other forms of fun and games, etc the ABOVE would be a ‘Happy ending’.
33 mill split a couple of way sort of takes the ‘sting’ out of being fired and banned for life.
BUT refer to Para 1, under the ‘break line’.
