Went to the pysankyfest at the Ukrainian Catholic church yesterday. Had some authentic hunky food there. Homemade pierogies, the best kapusta, halupky etc. my family was less than enthralled with it, but i liked it. It always astounds me to see this group of old ethnics speaking their language in this city that is filled with the new immigrants and very few of the old.

My paternal grandparents were born in Budapest. As I recall, “the best capusta” is an oxymoron, like “the best kimchi.”
