First season there was a bit of this.
Gov still has a bit of this, as does his geel henchman.

After a year of the walkers killing friends, family, and trying to eat them, the crew has an understandable lack of compassion.

It's also been a bit of a subplot theme with Milton trying to prove that there's some spark of the walkers' former humanity in them. There isn't. You keep looking for it--I thought maybe there would be a flash of it in Merle, but there was nothing.

What's more saddening than the callousness of the survivors to the zombies is their callousness toward other survivors, as seen with the backpacker several episodes back.
