Six or eight years ago, Biden made a veiled threat to the USCCB regarding refusing pro-abort pols Holy Eucharist. At the time I thought to myself, “What does he have on them?”
I’ve searched for it but was never able to find exactly what he said.
I have been thinking about this, and wonder if he threatened to make sure the tax-exampt status of the Church was revoked? If he told the USCCB that all the “pro-abortion catholics” would band together to pass legislation revoking the tax status, I could see how the USCCB would back down. It is really the only thing that makes sense, since most of the bishops routinely look the other way when Biden, Pelosi, Cuomo, etc. receive Holy Communion.
