Back in October, TheBlaze first told you about the re-boot of the buzz-worthy Left Behind movie that is on its way. As you may know, the popular Christian-themed book and film series tackled the Rapture and other Biblical themes.
Now, the movie series is preparing for a revamp one that will star actors Nicolas Cage, Chad Michael Murray and Ashley Tisdale. And this afternoon, TheBlaze exclusively learned that another star is in talks to potentially appear in the film.
According to sources, Tia Mowry-Hardrict (of the popular show Sister Sister) is talking with producers about a starring role in the new Left Behind.
So far, the role that Mowry-Hardrict would possibly play is under wraps, however the other actors placements in the movie have already been announced.
Cage will play Captain Rayford Steele, Tisdale will play his daughter, Chloe Steele, and Murray will depict journalist Buck Williams (previously played by Kirk Cameron). As for Mowry-Hardricts potential role, Stoney Lake Entertainment CEO Paul Lalonde did give a few clues.
They will be a passenger on a plane that the films main character Captain Rayford Steele is piloting, he said of the role that the famed actress could be cast to play.
The film will focus on the characters situation during the first few hours after the Biblical rapture, based on the Book of Revelation. Production begins at the end of April in Baton Rouge, La.
On a serious note though I do really like Tia and Tamera Mowery.
Cage is so into the IRS he will do any movie until he pays them off.
I love this series - can’t wait for the movie!
Oh well, maybe the special effects will be good, and end-of-the-world movies are always a hoot.
I would much, much rather see the Christ Clone trilogy be made into a movie series, but I guess this’ll have to do.
I can hardly wait.
Ashley Tisdale is Jewish.
Curious that she’d agree to be in this movie.
After High School Musical she may not be getting that many offers.
The dispensational caucus people will be thrilled.
Jews aren’t alllowed to do fantasy movies?
Her father is apparently a practicing Christian and she says she was raised with ‘mixed’ religious practices.
Considering how popular The Bible has become.....and considering how broke Cage has become....
it makes perfect sense....lol.
Can anyone recommend some Christian themed movies to watch?
Of late I’ve seen Christo’s War, Faith Like Potatoes and Revelation Road (Brian Bosworth).
What are some others?
Courageous, especially if you have children and grandchildren. Wonderful, sad and funny movie.
Ben Hur is of course, a classic. The three recent (2005, 2008 and 2010) Chronicles of Narnia films have been, IMHO quite excellent.
While it may seem a curious choice and would be a little intense for little kids, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, is another film you may wish to check out...based on a true story no less.
That, and they cannot eat Christmas snow.
She’s got three movies and an ABC-TV series coming out soon, with commitments for five more projects including Left Behind.
She’s been in many tv shows and movies since the three High School Musicals.
There's been a dark, downer streak in his recent films. I wonder if that's do to his own problems, or if that was just the kind of work he could get.
