One man in Monrovia came face to face with a couple of unwanted guests.
Two hungry bears broke into Justin Lees home through a doggie door and then ransacked the kitchen, eating everything in sight.
I was just like hanging out inside with my dog. I look over and me and the bear just like lock eyes, Lee recounted.
Just the whole kitchen was a mess, Lee said. The garbage was on the floor, our food was eaten.
Lee ran upstairs and called 911. The bears headed to his backyard.
He noticed they were chowing down on his dogs food and the meal his mother left out on the table for him.
Monrovia police and animal control used bean bag shots to force the bears to flee. No one was hurt in the process.
For Lee, even living in an area prone to bear activity, theres always something new to learn.
We kind of have to reevaluate now like how safe we are in terms of having food out inside now, he said.
They’ve found food. They will be back.
I lived just down the road from Monrovia for a lot of years. It’s in the Foothills area of Los Angeles, just south of Angeles National Forest (San Gabriel Mountains).
First time I’ve ever heard such a report from there.
Must have been small bears to fit through a dog door.
I thought the same thing. Little bears or big dogs.
Guess who’s coming to dinner?
That food must have had some kick ass smell to it in order to attract and draw the bears out from the woods and into the house..............ooooooooooeeeeeeee yech
“Must have been small bears to fit through a dog door.”
If they can get their head through the opening, they will get inside. You wouldn’t think so, but it’s true.
The worst stories I hear are from cat owners whose cats bring live snakes into their homes unnoticed and the snake gets away from the cat.
Our porch screen door opened inward, thus it was easy for the bears to enter. But they couldn’t pull it open to get out so they destroyed the place. Lesson, never leave your trash on your porch to be carried out later.
The bears are getting a bold as the mexicans here.
Smart guy, he called 911.
When seconds count...how long does it take a hungry bear to snap a guy’s neck? How many times can it be repeated in the average PD’s response time?
Hey, Joe Biden didn’t promise us some burly cop would be there to prevent a bear mauling, just a rape.
Yeah, the article didn’t describe the condition of the doors after the entrance.
A friend of mine accidently left the gate to the back yard open when she went to work....When she got home she had 3 dogs in her house, her’s and 2 visitors..She said her bitch had a party while she was working, the 3 dogs were laying on her couch.....
This lady didn’t call 911:
