If North Korea Starts a War the United States Will Lose

The United States faces, in my opinion, a less than 0.5% chance of being hit by a crude or advanced fission type nuclear weapon by North Korea. In fact the delivery systems they currently possess limit the ability of the regime in Pyongyang to very few targets outside of their region, putting US troops at risk but worse, the ability to destroy America does exist in that region. One map illustrating the targets of highest probability demonstrates why:

Some interesting speculation on if kim jong ugh nukes Seoul and Tokyo, the US economy would crash hard. Hope it doesn't give idiot boy any ideas.

"5.Economic activity in the United States will be reduced by at least 20% within weeks and bankruptcies will skyrocket as a result within 6 months of the event. Unemployment will probably soar above 25% even using the fictitious BLS figures"

I would worry about container ships coming from the Korean peninsula bearing gifts. Los Angeles could have a very bad day because some guy working in South Korea decided to accept the bribe offered by the guy from North Korea.

And if Seoul and Tokyo and Los Angeles all had a bad day on the same day ... yeah, that would hurt.

It is interesting reading. It’s a very “out-of-the-box” strategy - whether Kim III would pull it off (or attempt to) is hard to say.

But certainly, nuking Seoul and Tokyo without warning would be significantly devastating, not only in the Asian theatre, but globally as well.

Container ship off loads onto a shrimp boat, the shrimp boat goes to a harbor and off loads onto a truck, the truck drives to Atlanta or LA and KaBoom. We tend to think rockets and planes but there are simpler ways to make a delivery.

Dummies.

Iffen the NOrks DO hit us, it’ll be with a High Altitude (300 miles up kinda high) EMP nuke.

We make ABSOLUTELY NO PREPARATION for this kid of hit. It will essentially wipe out anything connected to the electrical grid—or stand-alone computers (like the dozen or so in YOUR CAR).

Bankrupcies? THAT’S your worry???? Yagottabekidding. Try no power, no water, no heat, no oil production, no industrial farming, refrigeration, etc. TRY-STARVING TO DEATH!

Yeah, we’ll lose all right.

I did read this AM that China is moving troops to the north, to position them closer to North Korea.
Even though China has tried to reason with this loon, I personally think they are sick of the twerp.
China could lose the same number of people that are in all of North Korea and still have a billion people, they may just swarm and wipe out the whole place.

He makes an interesting point about NK targeting Seoul and Tokyo. Both Japan and South Korea might cease to exist as economic powers for a time. However, I don’t see China as being the primary beneficiary. Instead, the United States would. If China backs NK in a nuclear conflict, our economic ties would unravel and stay that way—maybe for decades. Industry would relocate back to the US.

Japan would eventually recover. After all, they were already nuked twice and came back stronger than ever.

Interesting, there are a lot of ways they could do it.

Everyone says oh don't worry, they can't reach us.

Neither could Saudia Arabia, but they sent their terrorists to do it from here on 9/11/01.

Obama is such a "nice" guy (to our enemies, not our citizens), he has decreed that we will NOT do a preemptive attack on any enemies, but wait until they attack us before he will authorize any action towards the enemy. That includes nuclear attacks.

Even then he will probably waffle, he's such an inept leader.

After knowing he watched IN REAL TIME the Benghazi attack with our Americans being slaughtered when he could have done something again shows what kind of a despicable person he is.

"OH, I was sleeping and then went to Vegas, blame it on a hate video for a few weeks and then when Hilliary is finally asked months later, she can say 'What difference does it make now'"

for about ten days, tops

and within those ten days all of NK would be placed back in the stone ages

grave damage to Japan and SK yes - “fatal” blows? No.

“The North Koreans only need to strike two cities, Seoul in South Korea and Tokyo in Japan and the United States of America reverts to a level of economic activity equal to pre-World War II levels if we are lucky.”

Yeah, right. The idea that the United States GDP of today could contract to 10% of its size is ludicrous.

Even in the Great Depression, the GDP of that time only contracted to about 70% of it’s regular size.

Shipments in South Korea are far far more secure than those in the US. Anyone seeking to bribe one of the dockworkers better be ready to get beat to death.

Far more likely NK would come up through Mexico.

You do realize of course the norks put something in orbit last December? It is still out there zipping around the earth.
Do you also realize our southern border is basically not monitored right now from a de-orbital stand point?
While on the surface of those two facts it would be easy to say the norks are up to something and exploiting us, I also believe there is collusion here and the norks are the bait, not the actual delivery mechanism, a “look over here” type thing while the rest of the axis is busy plotting and setting plans in motion.
We are weaker now than we have ever been in the lat sixty years and ripe for being struck.
Your “homepage” says you are from New Jersey, I hope you are discarding all this hyperbole because you are stocked up and armed to the teeth. Things probably won’t bode well for you otherwise if we have any kind of societal collapse.

Kim III could likely expend his entire nuclear arsenal on Tokyo and Seoul without destroying either location. Rebuilding rather than cascading economic collapse would be my guess. It might even damage China more by forcing refugees to either flood the Chinese border regions or by forcing China to kill them (the more likely outcome).

So, the ones to watch are China and Russia should they decide America is fatally weak and move quickly after a NK attack to take us out without worrying about the feckless one’s reaction. A blitz is the way other countries can beat us. Obama would never decide what to do.

There's a reason we poured billions of bucks into that technology.

NK is a lose lose case for China.

China would lose big time and for a long time if she intervened on behalf of NK following a NK nuclear hit on anyone.

China will lose big time, and maybe for all time, if it’s bid for hegemony in Asia has to meet Japan, India plus a united Korea following a SK reunification of the penninsula.

“The “stone age” would be a step up for some of them.”

actually, my comment was in reference to the infrastructure - physical, governmental and commercial that keeps the regime running and keeps those in and working for the regime with the means to continue - they too would be eating bark like the NK citizens they prefer to let starve (when they aren’t killing them slowly in the gulag)

no matter what happened to Seoul, our and the SKs biggest problem would be the masses heading south to SK and not only would the NK thugs not be able to stop them, the rank and file and the leaders spies would be joining them

“China maybe is thinking there is a record of weakness and there is nothing to worry about.”

China could also be considering that with the Iraq theater but a minor nuisance at this time, and with the Afghan theater being wound down, the U.S. may be less distracted as concerns it’s strategic interests in Asia, and therefor NOT a good time to test any perceived “weakness”.

Hyberbole? Assumption?

If on 9-10-01 you publicly said that a bunch of rag heads in the desert of A-stan would take out the WTC and attack the heart of the USA - that too would have been ridiculed as hyperbole and assumption, even though Bin Laden declared war on us back in 1997 and attacked us time and again with no response.

Here the Norks have declared a state of war and have stated they were taking offensive positions to hit the USA as well as our allies. Today may very well be a kind of 9-10-01 in regards to the Norks.

The world smells our rot and understands how easily it would be to take us out by forcing an event that kicks out the glass legs holding up the house of cards our economy has become under the MarxoFascists.

Bin Laden himself stated that the way to defeat the USA is to force an event to cause our economy to collapse on itself and trigger the world to rule without any influence from us to keep the hard won peace after the Second World War. I’m sure the Communist Norks understand this - as do their Islamist allies in Tehran.

I have it on good authority from their dear leader, that those satellite photos have been photoshoped by our CIA as part of U.S. disinformation. LOL

my remark concerned the infrastructure of the regime - governmental, commercial and military and the means for any of it to continue to help the regime keep any control, much less take care of the mebers of the regime at any level

I know many citizens are eating bark this winter. So would be the Kim family and their minions.

As each attempts to read tea leaves; the moves on the chess board of the world abound. Everyone with common sense wants to be wrong. That is true of me too. I pray intensely to be wrong but that preparedness is paramount in the minds of those having to figure out what, when, and where. The consequences of actions never go without reactions. This time though our Generals better have standing orders from top down ... for communication may be impossible or nearly impossible. Similar to Israel’s Sampson Option.
