Free $27 cakes? Tourists line up for blocks to get into Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken. Goods are not much better than your average bakery.

My sister lived in Hoboken for awhile in the 80s and said the bakery has really gone down hill when it got “ famous”
If you want “celebrity” cakes, there is a cupcake place in Princeton that won a cupcake show on TV and their cupcakes are yummy

I drove past there every day for a couple weeks when I was dropping my son off at a summer program at Stevens Institute a few blocks away. That summer we had an incredible heat wave, and people were lined up a block away, waiting who knows how long to get in. (At least there was some shade on the next block, but it was still too hot.)
