Ha,ha, I’ve seen that particular Hope video numerous times, and I still laugh. Supposedly Hope (huge Republican) also did a clip where he zings Republicans too, but I can’t remember seeing that one. Nevertheless, in those days many Hollywood stars were Republicans and even the Dems of the day were not as nearly radical left as they are now. Humphrey Bogart, who was a Dem, went to Washington with some other Hollywood Dems to support the Hollywood (i.e. commie) 10 in 1947. Supposedly, he cut his trip short because he became disenchanted with the 10.
