‘Prometheus 2′ Struggling to Figure Out How to Continue the Franchise?
Screen Crush ^

Just last month, we were led to believe that ‘Prometheus 2‘ had a script and that it was “incredible.” This was at least according to star Noomi Rapace who was set to return in the sequel. Today we have a report of a wildly different story. One in which Fox and director Ridley Scott have absolutely no idea how to continue the franchise with the planned trilogy.

As the story goes, Damon Lindelof convinced Scott and Fox to ditch the planned ending of ‘Prometheus’ (which would have more neatly tied the film into the opening of ‘Alien’) for something different; something that would launch a brand new trilogy. This was all well and good but when ‘Prometheus’ hit theaters and faced a wave of criticism, Lindelof decided he didn’t want to return for ‘Prometheus 2′ and this left Scott wondering how they hell he was going to make a sequel.

Box Office Mojo notes that domestically, it about broke even. But it made 68% of its money on foreign box office.

Thus if they make a sequel, it should be directed to foreign audiences, and if some Americans show up to see it, just the icing on the cake.

Americans apparently are bored with CGI, so actually want acting and plot again. But foreign audiences are still impressed with shiny CGI.

Yeah...I can sit though almost anything. For some reason I got bored to tears with Prometheus and fell asleep. never bothered finishing it.

I just watched it on satellite tonight. I want my two hours back.

My take: the “good” alien in the beginning of the movie was one of the ones that gave their DNA (and life) to seed planets with intelligent life. They went through space on this mission to spread life. The Yin to this Yang was the “bad” alien who came up with the bad goo to destroy all life. He got delayed by his own creation on the toxic planet but when he was awakened by the humans he cheerfully went about his original plan...next stop earth, which would look like the toxic planet when he was done with it.

Come on, you didn't enjoy the look on the Engineer's face just before the Octopus critter finished it off?

Predator could also be notable by having the WORST makeup job for an elderly person in movie history. I mean Guy Pearce as an old man. He could barely walk and he goes on a deep space expedition to seek an answer to an esoteric question?
