Yes, I agree - but/and here’s a Q&A from a couple of years back:

Raleigh, North Carolina: A couple of years ago, a conservative writer published an essay in which he argued that punk rock was, by its nature, conservative! He pointed out that some punk rock songs had pro-life messages and (if I remember correctly) criticized the sorry state of Britain’s welfare state. What do you think about this idea?

John Lydon: That makes you conservative? Caring about unwanted babies makes you conservative? It makes you a realist! You listen to Bodies, and it’s clear I’m singing about a woman’s choice, mate. Don’t be moralizing with your religion and politics. It’s up to the mother. That’s how nature intended it to be. Heaven help me if I have to carry Godzilla in my tum for nine months.

So he somehow manages to be pro-life and pro-abortion at the same time in the interview. Or, he was trying not to seem pro-life, currying favor from the interviewer, and tap-dancing so as not to offend the intended audience.

I’ll take the song at its face value.
