According to this widely known site, the 20th century's total of war & persecution deaths -- referred to as "democide" -- was over 250 million.
That's an average of 2.5 million deaths per year for 100 years.
Out of that total, Holocaust deaths of six million Jews are unique and noteworthy, but barely 2% of the total.
Even in the overall context of World War Two, six million are fewer than 10% of all who died.
So, you might consider: my Holocaust postings are just a small example of the real human-interest news the old New York Times, for whatever reasons, did not much report on.
