In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “Word for the Day”.

Immure

Tr. Verb

    1. To confine within or as if within walls; imprison.
    2. To build into a wall: immure a shrine.
    3. To entomb in a wall.


Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Attempts to immure oneself in a tight little cocoon of personal isolation and security simply doesn’t cut it these days; we have to become involved in terms of exposing judicial activism and electoral fraud.

Okay, why do I suddenly have a thirst for a nice wine? Amontillado, maybe?

By the way, I plan to stop by the man's grave tomorrow. No special occaion; I'll just be in the area.

I do not plan to leave any unconsumed beverages, (or consumed ones, either, I should note).

I did indeed stop by Poe’s grave today.

He was in, but he wasn’t prepared to receive visitors.

As evidenced by the inscription on his gravestone, Poe died at much too young an age.

It is, I suppose, a rather bitter irony, which he himself would no doubt appreciate, that there is now a premier hospital right across the street.
