I had suspected you were incorrect when you stated:

The man clearly committed no crime here.
Yes I was wrong that first post. After researching the law it’s no offense to openly carry a long gun in Texas.
Apparently the cops down there don’t know the law either.
In fact the cop can be heard saying, he didn’t care what the law was.
So it’s likely they just don’t give a damn about the law, and just do what they please.
