Sir Colin was an excellent conductor. He will be greatly missed.

In 1971, I had a week’s leave after getting discharged from the hospital in Germany. Spent it in London, and managed to score a ticket to the Last Nigh of the Proms...Davis was the conductor... one of the most amazing and awesome musical experiences of my lifetime. Victoria and Albert Hall was just unreal..the entire audience having the time of their lives..
