The idea of a single interface for different devices is idiotic.
Windows 8 should have the Metro UI on tablets and smartphones, and the Aero UI on PCs.
They even put the Metro UI on Windows *Server*, for crying out loud.

Actually, that's a genius idea. The idea is to get the user familiar with one user interface which will work across all different size devices. No need to learn or re-learn a new device's interface when what you use on a smartphone and a tablet and on a laptop and on a desktop and on a server screen, looks all the same. Why does each different form-factor need a different look?
