Pat Summerall painted pictures with just a few words: “Simms. Bavaro. Touchdown.”
In a way to me, he was the voice of the Cowboys, during their heyday in the 90s. He and Aikman were very close.
He had an amazingly understated way of calling games. He was the perfect man to pair with somebody as hyperactive as John Madden.
Summerall calling an NFC East showdown...man, those were the days.
