2013 Order of the Arrow Spring Camporee, Cochise District Over 230 people attended camporee this past weekend at Wren Arena on Fort Huachuca. There were 19 units represented. 22 Webelos from 3 different packs camped for the weekend! Scouts from Packs, Troops, Teams, Crews, and for the first time our local American Heritage Girls Troop, enjoyed the events of the day. Scouts enjoyed activities such as BB shooting, archery shooting, and tomahawk throwing. They also built primitive fires and had an opportunity to earn their toten chip. There was fierce competition at the four-square dodge ball competition. The traditional Saturday night campfire included an ashes ceremony, skits from many of the units, and a flag retirement ceremony. To culminate the day, the Victorio Chapter called out 23 Candidates for Order of the Arrow. Special thanks to Chris Harper and all of the Order of the Arrow members that help organize and executive a wonderful Camporee
Girls. At Scout Camp.
Yes, they were invited to see if they wanted to join the Venture Crews/Teams or Explorer Posts.
Great post, SandRat. If it weren’t for week-’round work, I’d love to get back into Scouting. I miss it.
And this was only a District Camporee.
Good post SandRat. My 14-year-old was just tapped for OA this weekend, and then after the Board of Review, made LIfe Scout on Tuesday night. Now, on to Eagle.
Good on him.
Have fun. My oldest had his first Eagle fundraiser tonight.
