There was an interesting story about a guy who worked at a bakery here in Indianapolis. He quit and leased a building and started his own donut baking place.

No retail sales, just manufacturing donuts to wholesale to other places. Had two other young able-bodied guys as employees.

IOSHA came in and told him he had to convert bathroom to divided male and female handicap accessible, 15 grand.

Insanity!
I make my own for about $2 a pack, and that is after Obama jacked the taxes.
I was making a pack for 70c before Obama jacked the tax.

Good luck to the new vendor, if she ever gets up and running!

I think staying up and running will be the big problem. Who is going to eat that crap and probably pay top dollar for it? If they don't make a profit, how long will they hold the fort on a losing contract?

Nanny bloomberg and his calorie gestapo. Enjoy your diminishing food rations, comrades. You were stupid enough to vote for this guy, now you get to suffer the consequences. One more democrat trying to turn new york into zimbabwe.

2 bucks a pack? Perhaps I should start rolling my own. That is even cheaper than the Indian reservation!

And if I have to do the manual labor myself, it would certainly help me cut down on my smoking...added bonus!

Lol, true. I wonder if they even allow deliveries into the building.

I just made a ciggie on the top-o-matic.
I would say conservatively, that took 7 seconds.

Looks like a conventional ciggie.

This price on tubes is a bit high

http://www.amazon.com/Premier-King-Flavor-Cigarette-Tubes/dp/B001P0G346

Usually a carton $2.50

http://www.bnbtobacco.com/product/red-river-mint-pipe-tobacco-16-oz-bag/

This will make 2.5 cartons of ciggies. (mint is menthol)

I bet the restaurant is trying to finagle a deal by which they are guaranteed payment, even if nobody eats the food they serve.

If that’s the case, grind up some cardboard boxes, sprinkle the grindings with just enough petroleum mineral oil to make them a little greasy, grind up some discount multivitamins as a topping, and throw in a free glass of city water with a drop of red food coloring in it.

“It’s the special of the day, only $27.35.”

Re: food trucks and excessive regulations, I saw a piece somewhere the other day that DC is just about killing what was becoming a thriving food truck industry.

Of course, I don’t see why you can’t just drive your truck to friendlier areas - which many are doing.

Per that article although Arlington VA is also considering new regs they’re expected to INCREASE opportunities for food trucks.

Outside of a traditional NY hot dog or pretzel stand I’ve never eaten from a food truck, but I have watched The Great Food Truck Race on Food TV, some folks make some pretty good stuff it seems.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience".
