I was at a conference in SF in early March and the hotel was by the airport. I walked to the BART station and rode it into town and back out again about 6 hours later. No problems whatsoever. Beat a $50 cab ride each way...
I was on an SF bus one day (#30 route through Chinatown) when a woman got on carrying a live chicken in her arms. The driver told her she couldn’t bring a live chicken onto his bus. So...she just broke the birds neck and took her seat.
True Story - life in San Francisco.
“The people mover in Detroit is pretty good but it doesnt go anywhere and nobody rides it.”
That was funded the last time the City Council went to DC and “gots the bacon” from Pres Carter!
Its still taxpayer funded at a rate of nearly 93%.
Yep, the bacon funded the construction and that allowed the SEMI taxpayers to be on the hook for the continual, never ending cost of operation.
Hmm, I see the same thing happening for the new “high speed rail” station being built by the feds (agenda 21 controlled) in Dearborn. $300M is funded, so it should run about $600M to build and another $10M a year to operate...
I refuse to ride PhART (Philly Area Rapid Transit)
