Though a new guy, he thought he had a good chance at the presidency (thanks to the MSM). It went to his head. He decided he was going to go big - to make his mark - as a genius politician ready for the job.
He proved the opposite. He destroyed his chances because of it. He thought he could dance with the left wing devil and not get burnt. They walked all over him.
