In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

decussate \DEK-uh-sayt\ verb
to intersect or cross

Example sentences:
The illustration on page 34 of your textbook shows how the optic nerves decussate.

"The fibers of the lateral spinothalamic tract decussate one or two levels above or below where the injury may occur…."
— From an article by Kim Boswell, MD, and Jay Menaker, MD, in Trauma Reports, January 1, 2013

Etymology:
The history of "decussate" leads us back to the intersection of "decem," a word meaning "ten," and "ass-," a form that refers to a unit of weight and specifically to a copper coin cut to a half-ounce. In the Roman numeral system the number 10 is represented by X, an intersection of two lines. A man named Sir Thomas Browne coined "decussate" in the 17th century to discuss the crossing fibers that make up human anatomy—for instance, skin tissue. The word continues to be found primarily in scientific contexts today.

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

“Been Gay, Done that” is not always applicable to rubbing in pain relief medicines.

I don’t see Nixon as true evil-that term ought to be reserved for mass murderers and genocidal maniacs like the aforementioned Hitler and Stalin. I see Nixon in the lying lawyers’ and presidents’ club, along with Obama and Clinton-paranoid, enemies list holding cover-up artists...

They're nontoxic. I get calls about them at least once a month. ;) A+ for you! Now, go vote for Mike Fisher!

That’s what has always puzzled me about those who hate him so viciously. His “crimes” were so minor compared to anything Clinton, Clinton, Kennedy, Kerry, Obama, Rather, etc have done. Still do.

It is visceral - and internal to so many liberals. Have they been brought up and indoctrinated that way by propaganda since the mid-50’s?

I think liberals must have been as they are since long before the 50’s-because I remember that my paternal grandmom was said to have hung out with-according to the other relatives-”awful people-even atheists and LIBERALS” in NYC, Chicago and places in France in the 20’s and 30’s.

She had traveled-a lot-in her youth despite very modest means, had several men/husbands/lovers, a scandalous, amoral and hushed-up past that supposedly included bigamy and was described by my mom and aunts as “bohemian” in the same tone of voice they used for “communist” or “catamite”. I was a little kid then-1950’s-and they were repeating stories they’d heard from their mothers about those shocking liberals.

That is the word the adults used for effeminate male homosexuals when we were too young to know about that stuff, or to look it up-the fact that they said “liberal” and “communist” in the same disgusted tone put all three in the same category, and that is amusing.

“Funny” ... Liberals, socialists, communists. Add today’s enviro’s and Muslim fanatics/black racists groups.

You’ve got the model of today’s complete democrat electorate - throwing in the uneducated voter. After all, it’s well stirred by a dogmatic automatic liberal ABCNNBCBS news medium.
