Gee whiz, Stu loses the argument and alerts the backup ? Kinda weak.
"You don't need to worship Abrams to realize his Trek movies are far superior in most objectively measurable categories to all previous Trek movies."
Although it helps. Fortunately, we're not all blinded by those lens flares. Then again...
No, Stu. The honor is all yours, I assure you.
You didn’t even click on the link did you. It’s The Frantics and the greatest Trek spoof ever. It’s actually an olive branch if you’re smart enough to understand that. But of course given how emotional you are on this subject you probably don’t even like Trek spoofs.
Funny, I though Faux Trek WAS a spoof. But a pretty lousy one at that. Anywho...
That’s the best you’ve got. You’re slipping.
I don't think anyone but you thinks you have won an argument on this thread. Going from projection to paranoid conspiracy theories of people coordinating actions against you isn't helping. Why do you keep calling him "Stu" is this supposed to be some sort of insult?
Although it helps. Fortunately, we're not all blinded by those lens flares. Then again...
Being condescending without actually making a rational counter argument is kinda funny but hurt your position. Unless of course you are saying that lens flare is the most pressing argument of why Abrams Treks are not superior to previous Trek movies. Which wouldn't really surprise me.
Star Trek 4 was fun no? Save the Whales!
Doctor Who is a special case. As you know the character is virtually immortal and changes bodies so change is built into the concept. It’s why it has lasted for so long.
How much of that body changing concept was discussed during the first doctor and how much came up later? I seem to remember at some point he was supposed to be limited to 7 bodies or so, but then they changed that when one too many doctors quit. Really all they did was add an in story reason for a very normal franchise thing to occur. Most of the big characters in TV and movie history that have lasted more than a decade have had more than one actor, and the fans just handle it. Trek fans got to lead a charmed life for a long time on that. Which I think is the thing that TRULY irritates them about JJ Trek, what he’s proven beyond any doubt is that in the end Trek is a franchise and it works like all the other franchises, and that goes against their belief that Trek was somehow different.
FunNY for sure, and often unintentionally. Really in many ways I think it’s the TOS cast movie that felt the most like an episode. Which in Trek’s case, given how cheap and cheesy episodes were, isn’t really a good thing.
DW started in 1963 and when the original actor left three years later the regeneration concept was introduced. So although it wasn’t there from the very start, for all intents and purposes, it’s a crucial part of the concept. In the mid 1970s there was a sotry that mentioned he can only regenerate 12 times so 13 bodies. But there’s no way the BBC is going to let that stand in its way. DW has always been very flexible with its own rules. It never had a bible. That’s why it has lasted for so long. IT’s virtually a different show every four years or so.
I saw ST in 3D last night; loved it!
Took the g/f as part of her bday extravaganza, she loved it too.
***SPOILER QUESTION***
One question I had is why wasn’t Pike resurrected in the same manner Kirk was? The time interval wouldn’t have been that much longer than Kirk’s.
cuz pike is a commie and the only good commie is a dead commie.
Really? I thought Pike was a good guy...
testing you to see if you are paying attention
you beat the 2-day expiration.
the Jose De La Torre era in Boston gets put on hold today as Jose is optioned back to AAA.

White Sox unnecessarily released him ..
I loved Urban in Dredd, he still wants to do a sequel even though the producer says it is unlikely. And yes, B5 is superior to Trek.
They did a great job on that movie. Unfortunately Dredd being Dredd it’s got a miniscule audience (of mostly disturbed people like me), especially in America. If they could find a way to do one for under $10 million, knowing that 90% of its audience will be British and outside of there it’s totally art house bait they could really make a go of it, turn it into a series even.
Pike had been dead for at least a few days before they found out about the blood serum. And Bones probably kept that a secret to keep Khan’s people from being turned into cows harvested for their blood to keep all the “important” people alive. The blood was kind of a lame cheat, but then so was the Genesis planet.
