The IRS is critical to Obamacare. The structure created by the Affordable Care Act requires the government to know about both the health care coverage (or lack of it) and the financial resources of every American. The IRS, which already knows the latter, was the only agency with the reach to do the job.

A look at the text of the health care law reveals that much of it consists of amending the Internal Revenue Code to give the IRS more power.

When Obamacare goes fully into effect in January, every American will have to prove to the IRS that he or she has "qualifying" health coverage, meaning coverage with a list of features approved by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. That will be done by submitting a document to the IRS, something like a W-2, to confirm coverage.

The IRS will also decide who is, and who is not, eligible for Obamacare's subsidies. The law authorizes the IRS to share confidential taxpayer information with the Department of Health and Human Services for the purpose of determining those subsidies. And since subsidies don't just apply to a relatively small number of the nation's poorest citizens -- under the law, they can go to a family of four with a household income of nearly $90,000 -- they will affect a huge segment of the population.

In addition, the IRS will keep track of even the smallest changes in Americans' financial condition. Did you get a raise recently? You'll need to notify the IRS; it might affect your subsidy status. I’m looking at the comments here and I’m saddened by how demoralized everybody is. We are defeatist people willing to accept whatever tyranny is put over on us, as long as we can still complain about it and do nothing real. We don’t expect anything real; we have totally accepted the lawlessness of BOTH parties. We are like battered wives who think we can do nothing to get ourselves out of an abusive relationship when in fact it is our willingness to keep the status quo and our unwillingness to FORCE change that keeps us tied and gagged. We are the creators of our own slavery. As someone (who Obama hates and has publicly flipped the bird) once said, “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.”

Why does Obama hate Churchill so much? Because he is afraid that we will believe him and actually DO something to resist the Fourth Reich, rather than just wringing our hands and tsk-tsking while we all talk about how weak America is. Dang it - WE ARE AMERICA. If America is weak it is because WE are weak.

We shouldn’t be asking whether Obama gets out, as if there is even an option that he stay as is. The guy is a foreign enemy combatant and he has taken over the entire government - all the branches - and is using them to destroy us and raise up our communist and Islamist enemies who have sworn to destroy us. And we’re going Ho-Hum. Asking ourselves whether the terrorists sawing away at our neck will voluntarily stop if we say please.

This is ridiculous! When are we going to stand up and say, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it any more!!”? We shouldn’t be asking anything right now; we should be DEMANDING. When the Greatest Generation saw Hitler advancing they weren’t on Twitter couch-potato-quarterbacking, asking whether it was going to amount to anything. They were pushing up their sleeves, climbing into the trenches, and acting like they were Americans, like their country was worth saving, and like their children’s futures depended on them.

Memorial Day will be here soon and that poem will be read all over the country. We’ve got four men who died in Benghazi and a couple dozen who died in Afghanistan whose bodies were desecrated by our Islamist enemies at the approval of our own DOD, after dying because they were left totally and deliberately unprotected by own own regime. And we’re asking each other whether the torch is going to fall while we all watch. What the heck is wrong with us?! Those men didn’t die to pass on a baton that we all just watch clink to the asphalt!! The Greatest Generation didn’t save us from the Axis Powers just to have us bow to our Muslim and communist overlord in the White House now!!

Come on! We need to man up and git ‘r done! This isn’t a spectator sport.
