Just got a text message from my 16 year old

North Haven High School in lockdown due to a home invasion on Elm Street (same street as school)

I'm sure it's just a precaution, but moms still worry.

And we live right next door to the school, so I'm in lockdown here too :-(

Yep. They extended Elm all the way from Bailey to Sackett Point Rd

The new high school (3 story monstrosity) sits in the old athletic fields that were behind the middle school facing the new addition to Elm.

The old high School was torn down a few years ago. Now it’s baseball, lacrosse, tennis field.

Well, our high school was put on lockdown last Summer when a, um, well-intentioned teacher saw a hunter walking down the road with his gun. The school’s way out in the country surrounded by woods and pastures. Hunters aren’t unknown there.

Yah. I’ve got some mixed thoughts about the whole “lockdown” concept.

What’s -really- bad and worries me more is the default reaction at airports to evacuate everybody to the street. For everything. It’s just begging to be used by a terrorist... First leave a bag somewhere in the airport so they’ll evacuate, then once everyone is packed along the street outside... Up drives the truck with a thousand pounds of ANFO and a load of scrap metal. Bad move.

Wow! That's a long extension.

If you would, can you tell me if 110 Bailey Road still has a house on it? That's where I grew up. My father and grandfather built it so many years ago.

TIA

Thanks KK...It's nice for me to think that the house I grew up in is still there.
