An explosive, feature-length documentary hitting an expanded roster of theaters nationwide on May 17 offers a captivating look at the larger-than-life personality of the late Andrew Breitbart – a controversial new media pioneer whom the left vilified and the right hailed as an American hero.
Coming more than a year after the sudden and mysterious death of the crusading 43-year-old journalist, the film Hating Breitbart was initially screened in a few theaters in October shortly before the presidential election, but is expanding to 10 markets nationwide on Wednesday, along with the film’s simultaneous release on DVD and video-on-demand.

Hating Breitbart Director Andrew Marcus appears on the radio program of none other than Wade Rathke, founder of ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). ACORN was the subject of undercover sting videos produced by James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles, which exposed systemic corruption at the organization. The videos were published by Andrew Breitbart and ultimately led to the destruction of the Organization.
From ACORN to Weinergate, HATING BREITBART tells the story of one man with a website who forever changed the media paradigm, upending the traditional press and changing the ground rules of political journalism. He opened the floodgates to an army of citizen journalists who used new media to completely rewrite the narrative. I’m surprised it’s playing at the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta. The Plaza is located in very liberal Midtown. The audience should be interesting, not your typical suburban types. I’m planning to go this weekend.

Andrew Breitbart was a true warrior who took on the lying liberal media at every turn! My hubby and I were proud to be in his presence at CPAC events we attended.

I learned from someone close to his family that Andrew did have a heart condition and was told by his doctor to slow down. Those two words were certainly not in Andrew's vocabulary or in his continued quest for the truth and unwavering effort to expose lies!
Sorry I can’t tell you where the theater is located. Not familiar with the area.
